2017 WFAN Annual Conference Scholarships

Iowa REAP Scholarships

This year, we are providing 15 scholarships to women farmers or current farmland owners who manage farmland IN IOWA. Our funder is the Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) Conservation Education Program of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Scholarships are available to Iowa women who successfully complete this application and agree to return to their communities after the conference and implement permaculture principles on the land they own, manage, or farm.

If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be reimbursed for up to $200 in conference-related expenses after attending the conference and submitting a brief evaluation form. You will be required to attend at least one conservation-related workshop.

Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants, as long as funding is available. We will try to respond to your application within 2 weeks of receiving it. Apply for the scholarship here.

Center for Rural Affairs Scholarships

The Center for Rural Affairs in Lyons, Nebraska, is offering up to $3000 in reimbursements for women wishing to attend the WFAN conference. They are currently taking applications at this link, and will leave it open until funds are no longer available. If awarded a scholarship, women will be reimbursed for conference-related expenses after attending the conference. In cases of extreme financial need, consideration will be taken into account. If you know of anyone who might be interested in making a small donation, their contribution will be matched and so $50 turns into $100 right away — even if they need to apply for a scholarship.

Mother’s Egg Money Scholarships

You may qualify for a scholarship of up to $125 through this WFAN program. The information and application form are at this link.
